As I’m peeking outside my window, thinking about the snow that is headed our way, I’m reminded of one of my favorite weddings we have had the pleasure to be a part of: Caitlin and Matt’s. These two lovebirds were married just over a year ago at the end of 2012 on the Yale Campus. If you’ve never been to Yale, make a stop next time you are driving near New Haven and peek up at the gorgeous architecture that surrounds the streets. You’ll get lost in the complex detail and just about fall in love!
Caitlin and Matt planned their big day from overseas in Germany, where Matt is stationed and Caitlin attends school. Working with them was a dream for everyone! Caitlin had quite a fun vision and collaborated with her vendors to create a very personal wedding, where guests traveled in from all over the world. Caitlin started with a playful yet elegant color combination of mint, ivory, and gold and brought in vintage chess pieces for table numbers, a collection of mismatched mirrors depicting escort assignments, and close to 150 hand-folded (yes, you read hand-folded) personally addressed paper airplanes for place cards!
Shortly after getting their day started, Mother Nature made an appearance with the prettiest snowstorm I’ve seen to date. The ceremony was held on campus at the Dwight Chapel, so guests were able to make the short journey to dinner and dancing through the serene campus streets. The night was nothing short of energetic and filled with the highest spirits as guests danced until the early morning hours!
A big thank you to Justin & Mary for capturing every sweet detail!
Caitlin and Matt, thank you SO much for allowing us to be a part of such a monumental day! It goes down in our books as one of the prettiest, most exciting, and meaningful days. Sending you 100+ more years of adventure and dance filled nights! XO
