Jubilee Events named The Knot’s Best of 2010

Something really sweet happened recently: we were named one of The Knot’s Best of 2010 for wedding and event planners. Pretty awesome! Thank you to our brides who filled out their questionnaires and put us down as their favorite. We appreciate all the love and support!

xoxo

A new blog with a different focus — CandiceCoppola.com

I’ve been encouraged to develop a business blog to share thoughts, ideas, concerns, and musings on business. I’m really excited to launch my new website, CandiceCoppola.com. The motivation behind this new blog came from a colleague of mine, Christine Toner, who signs every post on her creative blog with… “Ideas take shape when they are shared.” I felt inspired by that, so much so that it’s my new motto that I’m trying to live by– in business and personally!

I am by no means an expert… I feel as though I have so much to still learn from others. But I also think I have a few pieces of knowledge to give. So, please, check out my new business blog!!

XOXO

Jubilee Event’s introduces The Studio!

In March we opened up our planning studio (alongside raw photo design and Paradigm Digital Video). It has become an amazing space for Jubilee Events and our clients. The Studio is a relaxed planning atmosphere where we sit down with our couples to design and plan their wedding. We have a ton of inspiration on hand, from design books, magazines, vendor portfolios, fabric swatches, prop rentals — you name it!

We are located in Danbury on the Bethel line, conveniently off I-84. Visiting The Studio is by appointment only. For more details, please contact us at 203.632.5654 or at info@eventjubilee.com.

Bridal Gown Sample Sale and Wedding Showcase

I received a great email this morning from Megan Dumaine of The Wedding Embassy in Watertown, Connecticut. The Wedding Embassy is teaming up with four local bridal shops to prove that brides on a budget can still afford a royal wedding during a Bridal Gown Sample Sale and Wedding Showcase at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, on Sunday, March 1, from 8:00am – 3:00pm. Admission is $5.00 per person, and the first 50 brides enter free, in addition to receiving an extra 10% off their purchase.

Positioned as the ultimate bridal event of the season, the sample sale will feature a huge selection of the area’s most gorgeous gowns, courtesy of The Wedding Embassy, Ragtime Boutique, Joyce’s Bridal, Delianne’s Bridal and Formal Wear, and The Great White Way. Dresses will range in price from $99 to $999, providing brides-to-be with a luxurious shopping experience at a most affordable price.

The Wedding Showcase will also feature an array of Connecticut’s best bakeries, photographers, DJ’s and caterers, who will be on hand to offer patrons mini-samplings of their finest and most delicious products. All attendees will receive a special gift and complimentary breakfast, and can enter a raffle to win a variety of prizes, including a tiara fit for a princess.

For more information and a complete list of vendors, contact The Wedding Embassy at 860-274-1988 or wtbybridalsale@gmail.com, or visit the Palace Theater website at www.palacetheaterct.org.

Thanks for letting us know about this, Megan!

Congratulations to our gay/lesbian couples in Connecticut!

It is a great day here in Connecticut – same sex couples can now legally marry! Town clerks all across the state will be buzzing with a ton of love and celebration. Congratulations to you all who are filing for a marriage license. I’m wishing you lots of joy, love, and happiness as you embark on this new path in your life together. I’d love to share your stories here on the Connecticut wedding blog, so be sure to take some pictures and email them to us! It’s moments like this where I wish I were a photographer – I’d be at my local town hall in a minute taking photographs of this really special day!

Historic Goodwin Hotel to Close

goodwin.jpgAs some of you may have heard, the historic Goodwin Hotel in downtown Hartford is closing at the end of this year. I’m so upset at the loss of the only boutique hotel in Hartford and hope that something will transpire between now and then to allow the hotel to remain open.

I just got off the phone with George, the event manager for the Goodwin. For couples who currently have a wedding booked with the hotel in 2008 — your event will continue as planned. As for 2009 couples, your wedding deposit(s) will be refunded completely but you will have to find a new location to host your celebration. I’m sure this is a very upsetting and emotional experience for 2009 couples who’ve planned a wedding at the Goodwin, so I want to offer my assistance in helping you find new location. There are a lot of beautiful, unique, and chic spaces in the Hartford area to host your wedding. Please give our office a call or shoot us an email and we’ll try to help as best we can. If you know a couple who has their wedding booked with the Goodwin in 2009, please pass along our contact information.
