Our in WHITE launch soiree on Wednesday, January 11th was a huge success! A big thank you to all our friends, colleagues and clients who dusted off their finest white attire and came out to celebrate with us. We couldn’t be more grateful for your support and encouragement. What better way to toast a luxury collaborative than to work with the industries best of the best? The biggest thank you and credit goes out to our talented team of creatives who truly made in WHITE’s launch such a success. From the talented gourmands at A Thyme to Cook, the gorgeous Sperry Tent and it’s transformation by Ryan Designs, the stunning white floral decor by Datura: A Modern Garden, the rockin’ band and electric violinist from Elan Artists, the delicious prosecco from VOVETI, the stunning white jeweled cakes from A Little Imagination Cakes, the comfy (and warm) white chariots from Gateway Limo, and our cute and fun props from SayCheese for our black and white photobooth!

One of my favorite parts of this wedding was that it wasn’t just a celebration of a new family unit, but it also honored their history. The couple was married on the lush lawn overlooking the river surrounded by their closest family and friends. Their ceremony was deeply personal as their parents and siblings stood by them underneath the Chuppah, which housed them with a family prayer shawl. Guests made their way up to the cocktail hour, where they were greeted by one of the most cheerful and entertaining A Capella groups, the LarKings. Guests were quick to find their seats as the sweet candy apple escort cards were too good not to touch!

The inside of the barn was adorned with garden lights strung across their beams coupled with long billows of fabric to give it a romantic look. Azalea Floral Design created a magnificent look with the centerpieces with branches extended from tall vases filled with apples. The walls held mason jars and old glass containers that Danielle’s mom wrapped in various colored tissue paper for a pop of color once the candles inside were lit. Danielle’s mom truly outdid herself with all of the fabulous décor. Not only did she personally create all of the table numbers, decorative jars, programs, menu cards, and tasty cookies that guests were able to take home with them, but she brought in so many heartfelt details that brought Danielle’s vision to life. The gift vignette contained rustic tables, antique shutters, and old crates filled with fresh apples. A gift bag, carefully sewn together out of the bride’s aunt’s wedding dress stored the cards from all of Danielle and Ramsey’s loved ones.

As the couple sat together at their table, they toasted with their heirloom champagne glasses in front of numerous photos of their family members throughout the years. It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to be a part of such a special day in a family’s history.

Join us on Thursday,  January 5th  from 5:30 -8:30 as we toast Callie Tein from Modern Trousseau .  Enjoy champagne and nibbles from La Cuisine and delectable sweets from Lovely Lollies while you browse Callie’s collection. Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events will be available to lend advice on wedding planning and will be inspiring us with a stunning table scape for two featuring the floral creations of Datura: a modern garden.

Jennie Fresa‘s beauty team will be performing  mini-make up consultations to allow you to envision yourself on your big day in the gown of your dreams. Be sure to look for the newest issue of The Connecticut Bride Magazine, on newsstands the first of the year to see the newest photoshoot we were delighted to create! A huge thank you to Carla Ten Eyck who is responsible for the gorgeous images below,
Vintage Cinema for the behind-the-scenes video, Beth Chapman and her team at The White Dress by the shore for the fashion and styling, Dana Bartone & Company for their two days of tireless beauty, Tony Palmieri and his team of assistants at Datura: A Modern Garden for creating our floral art, and Modern Trousseau for being the muse of our shoot!

Our first look was shot in front of the Old State House on Main Street in Hartford and inside the Gershon Fox Room, featuring Modern Trousseau’s Pearl Gown from their Fall 2011 collection, white leather gloves by Carolina Amato, jewels by Haute Bride including square stud earrings, diamond cuff and tiara, necklace by DK Designs and vintage black 1936 Buick by Carriage Limo. Datura: A Modern Garden decorated our vintage car and created the stunning white bouquet.

Our second look featured Gown the Savannah gown by Modern Trousseau as part of their Fall 2011 collection with black satin gloves from Carolina Amato. Earrings are by Tejani, diamond cuffs by Haute Bride, large cocktail ring from Kate Spade New York, and black tulle headpiece by Satya Twena. We shot in front of the historic vault at The Society Room, a bank turned wedding venue on Pratt Street in Hartford. The colorful bouquet and floral decor was created by Datura: A Modern Garden.

One look that didn’t make the magazine was The Kennedy Gown by Modern Trousseau for their Fall 2011 collection, which inspired our third look at The Old State House on Main Street in Hartford. I absolutely adore this space– with it’s high ceilings, white wooden walls and oversized gold chandelier. The back jewels of the gown are by aquinnah jewelry with earrings by Haute Bride. Tony from Datura: A Modern Garden created a bouquet inspired by the Royal Wedding.

The fourth look is Modern Trousseau’s Larissa Gown for their Fall 2011 collection. Our bride also wore a fox trimmed fur jacket, also by Modern Trousseau with earrings by Haute Bride, bouquet from Datura: A Modern Garden, and brooch from The White Dress by the shore.

Our fifth look has to be my favorite. When we got word we could shoot inside Hartford City Hall I knew I wanted to do a throw back, city hall style wedding. Modern Trousseau’s short lace Daphne dress proved to be the perfect dress for this sexy and sweet look. Our pillbox cap with cage veil and feather details is from the millner Bijou Van Ness with pearl earring from The White Dress by the shore. I absolutely LOVE the nude shoes from Badgley Mischka and the simple bouquet from Datura: A Modern Garden. Our groom’s attire is from the impeccable male clothiers at Valentino Tailors.

Our sixth look was at the historic Mark Twain House– whose history you simply must read! It’s an incredible Hartford landmark and one our state is so proud to have. A 20′s feel was the fashion direction that Beth Chapman chose for this look, inspired by the gorgeous feather trimmed cloche from Bijou Van Ness. Our bride wore long satin ivory gloves by Carolina Amato, Modern Trousseau’s Faye gown with a feather brooched belt and earring from from Haute Bride. The stunning round bouquet is by Datura: A Modern Garden.

Our final look couldn’t have been timed more perfectly for the blooming trees of Elizabeth Park, Connecticut’s famous 100 year old rose garden in Hartford. Elizabeth Park is such a magical place, especially during the spring and summer months. The dogwood and lilac trees couldn’t have been more of a perfect backdrop to the gorgeous Piper gown from Modern Trousseau’s Fall 2011 line. I absolutely love the colorful necklace from Haute Bride and sheer white wrist length gloves from Carolina Amato. Tony from Datura: A Modern Garden created all the unique floral decor, including the peony bouquet, floral ring bearer bowl, floral parasol and the GORGEOUS floral and greenery garland modeled by our bride!

During dinner, we transformed the ceremony tent into an fun lounge, complete with a white dance floor, semi-circular white resin smoothie bar, and sleek white couches with orange ottomans from Taylor Creative Inc. Culinary Concerts also designed a dessert bar round our style, creating white and blue seersucker cookies with shots of milk and Teddy’s favorite brownies. A huge thank you to Tricia Bohan photography for these images!

I don’t know what it is about polka dots but there isn’t a polka dot pattern that I don’t love! Maybe it derives from our constant fascination by Kate Spade and her easy-to-love designs and ensembles, or maybe it’s my love for Roy Lichtenstein’s notorious pop art. I find them to be so fun and versatile-they can be preppy, charming, sophisticated, playful, and downright glamorous! If I can find a way to wear them or incorporate them, I will!

This shoot was initially inspired by an anthropologie catalog I received a few months prior to our shoot. We went with a bohemian 70′s vibe and found the perfect location at the base of a mountain leading up to Pura Vida Gardens. The day started at a local surf shop where Alejandro works in the town of Jaco. More about this shoot can be found in our new e-zine, A Jubilee Event. Crabby Patties

2 lbs lump crab meat
2 tsp lemon juice
3 eggs
2 tbsp mayonnaise
8-12 oz plain bread crumbs
1 tsp salt
1/8 th tsp ground white pepper
½ red bell pepper
8 oz red onion
1 tsp ground mustard
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup milk
1/8 th tsp red hot sauce
1 tsp paprika
1 tbsp chopped chives
salad oil for searing

Combine all wet ingredients and seasonings in food processor then place in a mixing bowl. Process red pepper and onion till fine minced then add to wet ingredients. Pick through crab meat to make sure there are no shell fragments then pulse in processor to a fine shred consistency. Add to remaining ingredients in bowl and mix well by hand. Add bread crumbs to mix until mix will hold its shape. Scoop crab cakes with a ¾ oz ice cream scoop onto parchment paper. Lightly press down tops to form a cake that is flat on top. Heat a thin layer of salad oil in a non stick pan oven medium heat until if you drop a little piece of cake mix pan it bubbles around the edge. When your pan reaches the proper temperature place crab cakes in pan with the side that was on the parchment facing down. This will be your presentation side. Cook cake till lightly browned then turn and repeat on second side. Cakes can be finished on pan sprayed sheet pans in the oven heating to 155 degrees internal temp.

Serve with your favorite aioli – some suggestions would be chipotle, lemon, or tomato basil.

Other options: substitute half the crab meat with lobster meat and add a little tarragon.

Bill’s Famous Marshmallows

1 cup 10X sugar – for dusting and coating

½ cup water
2 ¾ tablespoons powdered gelatin

½ cup water
2 cups sugar
½ cups corn syrup

¼ teaspoon salt
2 large egg whites
1 tablespoon vanilla

Grease bottom and sides of a 13” x 9”. Coat with 10 x sugar. Whip whites with salt to just soft peaks. Set aside. In electric mixer bowl, sprinkle gelatin over ½ cup water. Let bloom. In 3 qt sauce pot, combine sugar, corn syrup and ½ cup water. Cook to 240 degrees. Remove from heat and pour over bloomed gelatin. Add vanilla. Whip at high speed for 6 minutes. Should be tripled in volume and cool. Fold whipped whites into whipped sugar mix. Mix evenly. Pour mix into prepared pan, coat with 10 X and spread evenly into pan. Recoat top with 10X. Let set at room temp for 2 hours. Put in refrigerator uncovered for 2 hours. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze until needed. Cut to size after completely set. Use plenty of 10X to dust cutters or knife.

Some Variations:
Add the following to the 1 cup of 10X

• Gingerbread, – 1 ½ teaspoon ground ginger, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ½ teaspoon clove
• Cocoa Ancho – ½ cup cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons ancho chili powder.
• Cinnamon – 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• Fruited marshmallows – add ¼ cup of compound and color with appropriate food tint to the sugar, water and corn syrup mix. Follow directions for the basic marshmallow recipe.

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Costa Rica now for a third time in less than two years and it is, hands down, one of the most unique, beautiful and amazing places I’ve ever been!

From the Designers

Our inspiration for the shoot came from our real life couple Michelle and Alejandro, who are avid surfers. Costa Rica is known for some of the best surfing in the world and with this shoot, we really wanted to highlight that! We also wanted to do something casual, relaxed, and beach side that captured the easy going and romantic nature of our couple. A lot of what we pulled together was simply based on inspiration when we went to set up that day. Finding that instinct and intuition of the natural landscape really influenced our design. In our tablescape, my favorite spontaneous elements are the centerpiece of braided fronds, which was the brilliant idea of our floral designer. I also love the paper chargers created by Posh Paperie, that we intermixed with real leaf detailing on the tiffany blue napkins. The hair and fashion was inspired by runway and an anthropolgie catalog we received a few weeks prior. Overall it’s colorful, light, carefree, and playful, much like the beautiful country of Costa Rica. — Candice Coppola, Jubilee Events

The opportunity to work in Costa Rica was a dream come true! The lush jungles, stunning beaches and rich culture inspired me to keep the attire very natural. The accessories that we used were made from wood and shell. We brought in a small touch of sparkle, because every bride needs some! The bridal gown by was by designer Augusta Jones. I selected it because it had a very organic feel to it. The silk chiffon fabric was perfect for the beach setting and the touch of metallic embroidery at the neckline had an ethnic feel that made it perfect for Costa Rica. The bride’s jewelry and headband selected for the shoot were by Maria Elena. Both contained accents of mother of pearl.The bridesmaid was outfitted in a satin yoryu dress by Vineyard Collection. I loved the vibrancy of the color of the dress, but also the amazing flow that the fabric had. We accessorized the dress with wooden bangles from ben amun to bring in a natural element.–From Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the Shore

This trip to Costa Rica was so inspirational in too many ways to list! The hair and makeup was inspired by a combination of the relaxed beach environment, the casualness of the couple, and the gorgeous styling of the event and the bride. It’s so important as a hair and makeup artist to understand the full vision of an event, so you can create the perfect finishing touches! Beachy, unconstructed waves for the hair really reflected the personality of the day and flowers tucked in the hair made the perfect accessory. For makeup, rich, vibrant color was the only way to go! Costa Rica is such a colorful place! I highlighted the eyes with bold shades of violet and teal and kept the lips soft in shades of pale coral and peach for balance.–From Deanna Nickel of DD Nickel Beauty

Before our actual shoot happened and was in motion I tried very hard not to have any preconceived ideas as to what I wanted to do or not do. I wanted to wait and see where we ended up- be it the rainforest or the black sand beaches of Playa Hermosa and let my surroundings inspire how I would photograph Michelle and Alejandro. Lucky for me these two were such naturals in front of my camera and so in love. For the most part I let that dictate a lot of the feel that I was going for in my images- and let the story line come naturally. We had a variety of weather that day,and I used it all to help set the tone but really and truly it was Michelle and Alejandro’s clear, obvious love that came through- whether we were shooting in the sun or the bone drenching rain!

My favorite image is from what we all thought would be the end of our shoot for the day- the skies had opened up and everyone scurried about packing the vans, stowing the musicians and instruments- and Michelle and Alejandro had already fled to the top of the beach to leave. I stopped them and, well since they were already soaking wet? I just had them enjoy being with each other, all wet and in fancy clothes! Michelle’s makeup held up PERFECTLY- and everything just jumps out of the frame at you- their skin tones, the drops of water all over them, the way Alejandro’s white linen shirt just clings to him, it’s all natural, real and completely romantic!–From Carla Ten Eyck, photographer

So much of the landscape in Costa Rica is dense and lush with saturated tropical colors and thick, waxy flowers. This beach was the antithesis of that, breezy and simplistic. I knew the florals needed to be a reflection of that. Most exciting to me was having the opportunity to work with new flowers, many that I’d seen only in photographs, still more that I couldn’t even identify! I chose to create bouquets that moved in the wind, a cascade for our bride and a fan bouquet for her maid. The inspiration for the floral jewelry came from the turquoise stones offset with shades of orange and yellow croton foliage and green shampoo ginger. Local fruits became the focus of the florals for our tablescape, melons and oranges simply accented with braided palm fronds. Fan palm provided just the right touch for the chair backs and gorgeous yellow and green flax foliage (clipped from the back yard of our posh accommodations!) accented the large driftwood pieces used to mark our ceremony. We absolutely loved being a part of this innovative & inspiring shoot, with such an amazingly talented group of people. Candice is really the one who came up with the inspiration board & colors that she wanted to incorporate. We took her initial storyboard and ran with it! We came up with a fun and funky pattern to use on several of the pieces, and designed an adorable “postcard style” save the date. The mustard yellow and moss green were a perfect combination for all of the paper goods, and the mix of a funky script with a block font made for a clean but fun look. To incorporate the “beachy” aspect, we pulled in shells filled with moss for the placecards to rest in. This was one of our favorite shoots ever to be a part of! No. 1; Tablescape by Jubilee Events / Just For You Floral Design with handwashed burlap linens, farm chairs decorated with green moss and hanging mirrors.

No. 2; Fresh artichokes decorate a vintage silver serving bowl (my grandmothers, to be exact!). Consider purchasing or borrowing vintage pieces and using them as decor in your Thanksgiving tablescape like the artichokes pictured.

No. 3; Thanksgiving inspired fashion styled by Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the shore. A cute knee length cream colored dress paired with a vintage fur stole completes this look. I love the nude and fresh makeup by Catie Bane of Dana Bartone & Company and the feathered headband our model Kelley is wearing!

No. 4; Our tablescape up close with white Pottery Barn dinner plates and alternating rusty brown salad plates with a bird motif from Pier 1. We used antiqued looking mercury glass egg cups from anthropologie to hold some of our mini pears at each place setting. Our tablescape was a mixture of old silver containers, limoncello cups, and ivory taper candles in short candle holders from ikea and tall clear bubble candle holders from CB2. We pre-poured water glasses with lemon wheels to give it a pop of added color (and flavor!). When decorating your holiday table this year remember to play with sizes, shapes and heights in our centerpiece. It will add dimension to your design!

No. 5; A close up shot of our individual place settings with tiered dinner, salad and dessert plates. I purchases some vintage floral napkins from a local antique store and folded them length-wise. A mini pear holds into place our placecard, which is done on a piece of wood veneer by Pretty Mail Calligraphy.

No. 6; Inexpensive mini-jars are wired to curly willow branches with candles and ivory spray roses tucked in. This would be a gorgeous arrangement for your front foyer or on an accent table and fairly inexpensive to create! Curly willow lasts forever and spray roses can easily be found at your local flower shop.

No. 7; One of our beautiful centerpiece arrangements by Just For You Floral Design using ivory roses and local greenery. Most of the flowers we used were in an ivory / yellow / green shade. I love the neutral palette!

No. 8; I always LOVE to play with chair backs, and this time we added long strips of green moss down the backs of this old farmhouse chairs. In the center, we tied (at varying heights) inexpensive mirrors I purchased at the dollar store. Jane fastened some hearty greenery to the mirrors using a little bit of floral wire.

No. 9; Warm apple cider in white Pottery Barn mugs accented with a fragrant cinnamon stick. This is why I LOVE fall! This would be great served to guests as they first arrive on a silver platter (as pictured).

No. 10; S’mores cake pops by the talented Lovely Lollies from Danbury, Connecticut. We love pastry chef Corine Dell’Orso’s play on the cake pop with these s’mores pops. They as much fun to display as they are to eat, shown here in an inexpensive urn draped with moss to cover the floral foam we used inside to keep these beauts upright.

We were inspired by the classic, preppy and fun look of bow ties, seersucker and bright colors. Some highlights from this shoot are all the incredible corals and blue colors that Tony magnificently worked into the tablescape arrangements and bouquets. Seriously… are you kidding? The irises? Amazing! And the incredible paper that Nichole from Coral Pheasant created– folded menu cards with covers, customized favor / place card boxes with unique paper flowers on top, mini bow ties that decorated our champagne glasses… need I go on?!

We also scored an incredible pink vintage bike thanks to our friend Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the shore, who styled our models for the shoot from head to two. We LOVE this lace Modern Trousseau gown!

I just have to say, one more time, how grateful we are to the amazing and talented vendors who contributed so generously to our shoot. We love the way it turned out and are so excited to share! Porter Creek Winery will always have a special and meaningful place in my heart! My husband and I spent a week in the Russian River Valley on our honeymoon at the tremendous Farmhouse Inn which was only a mile away from Porter Creek. We had the most memorable afternoon there driving up the dirt driveway to the tasting room, playing with the wine makers dog who sat outside at the front door, and of course, tasted quite a bit of wine! We had several special bottles shipped home to us and always reminisce over our trip whenever we uncork one. So, for our first series of Friday Favorites I thought we would share our love for Porter Creek with you! I hope you are all getting together with family and friends over the weekend so bring a bottle of Porter Creek with you wherever you go!

I chose a lovely 2005 Fiona Hill Pinot Noir– which I am obsessed with. It is SO yummy! From the winemaker: This meticulously planted, steep hillside vineyard is situated along Westside Road at the entrance of Porter Creek with an ideal southern face. Hard clay top soil with a fractured stone bedrock places continual stress on these Pinot vines, resulting in a very expressive, unique vineyard designate wine. The nose has aromas of wild berries and forest floor, a weighty mid-palate and long silky finish.

A second choice of mine but Lindsay’s choice would be the 2009 Chardonnay: The growing conditions of this terraced, hillside vineyard, with mature vines and low yields produces a very unique Chardonnay. George’s Hill vineyard extends from the hilltop down a steep terraced slope of approximately 30% grade. The soil profile consists of Franciscan, metamorphic hard clay with a bedrock of fractured stone material. The bedrock layer allows the roots to penetrate, but only slowly over time. Parts of the vineyard yield only one and a half tons per acre. The grapes are harvested in the early morning hours in order to preserve and capture the fruit at perfect ripeness. The wine undergoes natural fermentation in barrel as well as natural malolactic fermentation, and is aged sur lees. The 2009 vintage is extremely well-balanced. Aromas of lemon, lime and pear. Richness and mineral notes on the pallet, yet restrained with a long finish.

Diana’s 2009 Zinfandel pick would be a wonderful choice for your Thanksgiving dinner table: A classic example of Sonoma County Zinfandel. Aromatically, it has the explosive cherries and berries jam and on the palate it is rich and textured on the finish. Produced from hillside grown vines and blended with 10% Carignane for texture and overall harmony.

A few weeks ago I told Nichole from Coral Pheasant that I was fairly confident I single handily re-energized the chevron revolution on pinterest. She laughed and reminded me that I wasn’t that popular. In all seriousness, there seems to be a chevronaissance as the pattern has come up everywhere! I love it oh-so-very-much as it’s a modern take on a classic stripe. You can incorporate chevron into your wedding fairly easy, but just be careful that you don’t overdo it. I recommend using it in interesting and unique ways with blocks of vibrant colors and another pattern. Xo!

As our shoot design progressed it sort of morphed into this obsession with taxidermy and a statement decor piece that we wanted to create. Between myself, Nichole of Coral Pheasant and the incredible Tony of Datura: A Modern Garden, we conceptualized this deer head escort card wall nearly 7 1/2 feet tall and completely covered in over 700 varieties of white and ivory roses (from the most wonderful rose grower, Passion Growers). Radic, right? To date, it is my absolute favorite thing we’ve EVER done at a photoshoot– and it almost didn’t happen! Believe it or not, white resin deer heads are hard to come by. After a fighting match with the folks at zgallerie who couldn’t express ship me my deer head in time (!) we scowered decor stores, online retailers, salvage stores… everything from this side of the Mississippi to procure a white resin deer head. We came up with nothing! Total failure. It was quite tragic… until… Tony came across a discarded taxidermy deer head form the day before our shoot with no ears or antlers. Score! And in true Datura: A Modern Garden fashion that deer head not only had the prettiest Styrofoam ears but also curly willow antlers and was painted a magnificent shade of white!

Some more incredible details from the shoot include the paper suite designed by Coral Pheasant, which included laser cut metal engraved invitations mounted to a python booklet. Whhaaat? Nichole also created laser engraved and hand painted gold / clear acrylic menu cards and escort cards, which was inspired by a decadent acrylic/ghost end table with exposed metal brackets found in elle decor. These are a MUST for us to reproduce at one of our events and is truly an incredible statement piece!

One thing I can’t get over is the insane centerpiece Tony and his team created using curly willow and hanging white curcumin suspended above one of our rentable vases. We used a luxurious linen from Wildflower Linens in a shimmering gold paillettes with gold “saturn” chargers at each place setting from Rentals Unlimited. Each place setting had a neatly folded white silk shantung napkin with an acrylic menu card with handmade paper garlands from Kristina Marie.

Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the shore was our talented fashion stylist and pulled together all the fashion and accessories for our model. She created three separate, modern looks using gowns from UK designer David Fielden, Amsale, and Coren Moore! And now the gorgeous images from the insanely creative Carla Ten Eyck… (be sure to read her blog post too!).

We were excited, along with our industry favs, to be asked to produce an editorial photoshoot for Southern New England Weddings‘ newest destination edition. Shot inside Belle Mer in Newport, Rhode Island, we designed a modern, sexy, city style wedding in shades of white, ivory and gold. It was a true creative collaboration between ourselves, Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the shore, Tony Palmieri and Cat of Datura: A Modern Garden, Dana Bartone & Company, A Little Imagination Cakes, Coral Pheasant Design + Stationery and the talented photographer Carla Ten Eyck.

We loved our final appointment of bridal market at Modern Trousseau’s new showroom in New York. Beth Chapman had already previewed the collection before it had hit NYC and raved about Callie’s stunning designs. They did not disappoint! Her newest collection includes some amazing lace gowns along with a fun and flirty line “before there was long.” Be sure to stay tuned to The White Dress by the shore’s blog for complete fashion updates from market!

We’re always so grateful to Martha Stewart Weddings and Darcy Miller for hosting an incredible party the last night of bridal market. After so much running around, our tired feet and minds need to cut loose! We had a great time at their offices with friends from The White Dress by the shore, Coral Pheasant Stationery + Design, Bliss Event Design, Weddings by Socialites, Impressions Photography, 14 Stories, Monumental Designs, Lyndsey Hamilton Events, Ceci New York, Lela New York, Ashley Baber Weddings, Annie Lee, and many more! It was a treat to meet Martha again this year, too.

We also attend a fabulous gala at The New York Public Library hosted by The Knot. Big thanks to Carley for a spectacular and fun night!

Our second recap of Bridal Market includes gorgeous gowns from Amy Kuschel, Anne Barge and Romona Kerveza. The trend this season brought us back to a classic elegance and featured a lot of lace and tulle. The royal weddings influence was evident– not only by the sleeves but the fabrics and silhouettes!

My weekend started off at the Amsale runway show, where she showed gowns from her newest collection. The runway show was a modern take on the classics (even down to the music!). Her maids walked down the runway first in all Jersey fabric in clean silhouettes, some with one shoulder. Her bridal collection had a lot of tulle skirts with with satin bodices. You can see all the dresses that walked down the runway here.

We visited one of my favorite new lines, Ivy & Aster, known for their sweet and feminine style. They also make the cutest bridesmaids dresses that you’d be destined to wear again and again! You can see their full Fall 2012 line here.

It’s totally true: we do heart Euro designer David Fielden– and what a pleasure it was to meet him and have him show us his 2012 Fall collection! His avant-garde style and bold use of textures, fabrics and cuts makes his line completely unique. One of our favorite looks was a backless white jumpsuit dress alternative– so 70′s and truly for the bride who wants something amazing and different! You can see some of his 2012 line here and his Milan runway show below… I STRONGLY encourage you to watch the whole thing. The finale is worth the wait!

This past weekend was glorious! With a well deserved weekend off, I caught up on many important things: sex and the city episodes, online shopping which involved a major chloe purchase, and my netflix wishlist which included Valentino: The Last Emperor. Watching Mr. Valentino prepare for his 45th Anniversary collection and retirement was riveting– and it also reminded me that I’ve been straight up sweatin’ the color red.I’ve managed to purchase a killer red jacket from j.crew (along with a bright red dress and sweet red pumps… opps). I’ve been rockin’ my  favorite red mac lipstick for a while too. What is it about the color red that’s got me switching out the pink from my wardrobe? I think the reason why I love it most is it exudes confidence.

Considering refreshing your hangars with some new, vibrant red pieces. It’s a big color this year at j.crew and kate spade. My favorite way to wear red is to wear it from head to toe. Red dress? Check. Red jacket? Check. Red shoes, lips, belt and bag? Che-ck! Wearing all one color can be really dramatic and bold. I’d die to design an all red event with neutral touches! Someday I might be able to add the ultimate red piece to my collection: a red valentino. A girl can dream, right?

Cameron and Josh chose simple shades of white, blush pink and charcoal. In their pursuit for wedding decor, they amassed an impressive collection of unique milk glass pieces that Elisabeth from BLUSH arranged peonies and large garden roses in. Gourmet Galley served up a delicious evening of vegetarian delights as guests dined on lasagna and pappardelle pasta. Yum!
