What I Love
The intimate dining veranda swagged and drapped in white fabric, giving it a romantic and airy feeling, the wedding gown and suit that looks to be made out of the same bolts of fabric, the intimate family style table with lush roses and tall, thick pillar candles, and the different french country style antique chairs.

I wanted to revisit the wedding of one of my favorite actresses, Marcia Cross to Tom Mahoney.

What I Love
Multi-textured table settings with a variety of different colors, the “flower shop” theme with an abundance of fresh blooms, and the mod-glam atmosphere created for the lounge area with the super fabulous candy bar! I also love that her sister sang Paul McCartney’s song “Only Love Remains” as Marcia walked down the aisle with her parents.
… At last
The wedding of Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney took place on June 24, 2006 at San Gabriel’s Church of Our Saviour Episcopal parish in Pasadena, California. “Walking up the aisle was a glorious moment. I was just so happy,” says Cross, who accessorized her custom Reem Acra gown with a cathedral-length veil and Neil Lane platinum-and-diamond jewelry. In a twist on tradition, only married couples were asked onto the dance floor for the post-ceremony bouquet toss. One by one the couples were eliminated until the pair married the longest (more than 50 years) were presented with the bride’s bouquet of white peonies and lilacs.
Seven flower girls—Cross’s niece and the daughters of her closest friends, clad in white Reem Acra dresses—carried silk douppioni baskets and tiny bouquets down the aisle. The bride, on the arms of her parents, Janet and Mark, followed in a creamy strapless embroidered gown, also designed by Reem Acra. Eagerly waiting at the altar for Cross was Mahoney. Although the ceremony was suitably solemn, the guests erupted in cheers as soon as the minister pronounced the pair husband and wife.
For the reception, Julie Pryor, of Pryor Events, and Hidden Garden Floral Design Studio, both in L.A., transformed the ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton Pasadena into a breathtaking all-white flower shop where 232 guests, including Cross’s co-stars—Eva Longoria with boyfriend Tony Parker, Felicity Huffman with husband William H. Macy, Doug Savant, and Housewives creator Marc Cherry—had cocktails on white ottomans and daybeds amid bursts of snowy Casablanca lilies, tulips and peonies.
To choose a cake, Cross invited pals to a tasting at the Layers Cake Design Studio in Sherman Oaks, California. Each picked a favorite flavor. The result? A five-tier confection that was “delicious and the size of the Eiffel Tower,” Cross has said.
In addition to the towering nuptial confection, a sweets station tempted guests with jars of saltwater taffy, jelly beans, rock candy and chocolate-covered strawberries by Lee Gelfond Chocolates in L.A. Thoughtful touches continued, even after goodbyes were said: For the newlyweds, it was a trail of flower petals leading to a room aglow with candles. Guests—who also stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Pasadena–ready to turn in found pillows inscribed “Sweet dreams. XO. Marcia and Tom.”

Chris Kattan and model Sunshine Tutt were married on June 28th at Chateau Du Sureau. The couple added a lot of green elements to their daylong celebration, including driving to the ceremony in a hybrid car. “The entire menu was all grown organically and locally,” Sunshine said. “We tried to make sure that we did everything by the book to really make this wedding as eco-friendly and green as possible.” Success!
In addition to using local vendors and artisans (which I am a huge advocate of!), the couple gave each guest an environmentally friendly gift bag. The reusable totes were from My Bag Cares– a company that plants a tree in the United States for every bag purchased – and were filled with $1,505 worth of natural and organic health and beauty products. Now that is a wedding I’d love to be a guest at!
The wedding is featured in in Touch Magazine, but I wanted to share with you the beautiful pictures they’ve posted online. Everywhere you look there are beautiful hydrangeas in purple, blue and green. I love the chiffon green bridesmaid dresses with an empire waist and sash – they are so elegant, chic, timeless, and dare I say, you could wear them again! No word on the designer of the brides gown, but she exuded glamour in her mermaid style gown. Also enjoy the randomly gratuitous picture of Jimmy Fallon (who is, coincidentally, a married man himself now

I picked up my copy of OK! Magazine’s featurette on Charlie Sheen’s newest nuptials. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I’m not sure if they were going unpretentious casual elegance or let’s save the money for the divorce, but either way, the photographs and description left much to be desired. I am especially not a fan of the wreath that Brooke wore with her 11.64 carat engagement ring. Yes, 11.64 carats! Are you kidding? The pictures in this cover story looked photoshopped, staged, and stiff. I appreciate his Men’s Warehouse suit, but couldn’t the photographer have him fix his tie and hair? That, coupled with the discussion of his previous (and contentious) marriage to Dennis Richards was in poor taste. The wedding should be about him and his new wife — not his crazy ex!
The table décor was beautiful, however, with chocolate brown, gold, green, and deep reds. It really was very rich in color and texture. The cake wasn’t my favorite, though. Birds and twigs?
