The Studio throws a holiday bash!
As you know, we share an incredible studio space with Eric and Amber Langlois of raw photo design and Tom Morlock of Vantage Point Films. We opened our joint space back in early 2009 and have been eager to host a party in our new digs. As the end of the year neared, we really wanted to get together with our industry friends and celebrate an incredible wedding season. During our brainstorming session the studio decided to have a fun, RELAXED, unpretentious holiday party that celebrated crazy tinsel, garland, and fiber-optics. If Eric had his way, we would have also had blown up snow globes in Tom’s office and an animatronic nativity.
Forging ahead with our party theme, we created an invitation to surely set to tone. A raw photo design exclusive:

Our crazy event was catered and hosted by Jordan Caterers, who provided an incredible spread of absolute deliciousness for our guests to munch and feast upon! Jeff and Debbie of Jordans were totally game for our ideas and created a quirky yet delicious menu of mini fondues with yummy goat cheese, coney island pigs in blankets (the crowd favorite), ants on a log, and baby twice-stuffed potatoes with truffle oil. We also had delicious hummus and cheese drizzled with honey and candied nuts. For dessert there was munching of white chocolate covered popcorn and individually wrapped red velvet whoopie pies. Yes, whoopie pies. Yum!

Our very good friend and colleague, Tony from Datura – A Modern Garden created a floral sculpture masterpiece straight out of whoville.

And the super awesome Meredith of Pygmalion Design created this gorgeous ranunculous arrangement that classed up the joint!

No event hosted by raw photo design would be complete without their famous photobooth. I’m certain we didn’t disappoint!!!

It was such an honor to be able to host this party in our space. Thanks to all who could come! BIG thanks to Jordan Caterers for making our event taste delicious. Also, thanks to the Jubilee Events interns and staff for their expertise in tacky lighting displays. See you in the new year!

Things We Love, Vol. #6
Boy, it is cold and windy outside today. We’re working on an amazing winter themed wedding photoshoot for you which I can’t wait to share. In light of the recently snowy situation here in Connecticut I thought it would be the perfect time to share some winter inspiration! Grab some hot cocoa and a chunky throw…
Loving this Evergreen, Silver and Citron color story / inspiration board from Flights of Fancy.
Style Me Pretty recently featured this amazing wedding in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Also totally loving this winter inspired engagement shoot.
Our friend Nina, who is the knower of all things petite and fabulous, shared with us her amazing christmas decorations this year. Check them out! Oh Joy! also featured some of those amazing christmas bulbs on their website. Why do I love these so much?
S’mores are perfect any season, but especially during the winter months. Elizabeth Ann Designs blogged about these amazing s’more favors. It is all about packaging. It makes the mundane extraordinary! I also love this felt rosette wreath they posted too. I’m in love with ruffles this season!
The Party Dress created an amazing inspiration board for a Martini and Mistletoe soiree. Yes please!
These hand made snow flakes remind me of elementary school…. and Elf! Such a great way to decorate the house (and inexpensive)!
Snippet and Ink posted their newest board, Baby it’s Cold Outside. Makes me want to have a winter wedding!! I’m also loving the slight retro feeling of their other board, Ivory and Evergreen.
and last, but not least…
Yes, I know. I’m not sure if this is winter inspiration but I had to post about it. I’m looking forward to the day when a bride hands me this picture and says, “Candice, design a wedding for me around THIS!”
A girl can dream, right?

Holiday Cocktails: Candy Cane Martini
I thought we should start our holiday entertaining series the way all good parties get started: with a martini.
I love this recipe for the Candy Cane Martini. It is super easy to make and most of us have the ingredients already stocked in our bars, which means it is also budget friendly!
ingredients:
• 1 1/2 oz. vodka
• 1 tsp. peppermint schnapps
Mixing instructions:
Mix all ingredients with ice in a shaker. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Here is an option: garnish with a small candy cane or create a candy cane “rimmer” with crushed candy canes.
