When people ask about my family, I can’t help but excitedly express, “Oh, it’s a big family! Passionate, fun… the best really!” But, you know what? I walk away from each wedding with a little more family than I started off with. The Bozzutos and Marescas were no exception. They not only opened their amazing home, but hearts, to everyone. They are such a warm, tight knit group of people that planning their day felt like the best part of putting together a family holiday, making the day one of the most memorable weddings to grace a summer day. Not only did we have the best setting for Amanda and Joe’s wedding, but their day birthed the idea to host more weddings and events at their family farm, perfectly known as Heritage Homestead right here in quaint Northford. The views of Southern Connecticut are beautifully natural and create the perfect backdrop for any ceremony or tented reception and we cannot wait to get back there for more amazing events!

Their tent from Greenwich Tent Co. and the on site pavilion housed all of our guests that evening. Soft, ethereal draping and gold pendant chandeliers watched over all the toasts and cheers while guests gathered on our various lounges set up throughout both spaces. Instead of a sit down dinner, we opted for a more relaxed cocktail style menu, where the ever-amazing A Thyme to Cook provided spreads of fresh, savory offerings across thoughtfully designed farm tables and hand passed trays. Our bride, Amanda of A. Marie Designs, one of the head honchos behind Heritage Homestead, designed all of the paper and signage for her day. Starting with the textural cotton paper from Copper Willow Paper Studio, beautifully plated with gold calligraphy all the way to the hand detailed mirrors and glass panels, there was no detail left undone.

Amanda and Joe had been together from a young age and their love story still held every bit of admiration and eager anticipation for all of life’s adventures together and this was felt by everyone who knew them! Their smiles were infectious and brilliant. Their excitement overflowing. Better than Batman and Robin, a beach and a cocktail, chocolate and peanut butter, everyone who was in their presence knew this was a duo better than the rest. I was very lucky to work closely with the stunning Amanda and her mom, Kathy, the two most wonderful hearts and spirits you will ever meet. They were one of those families who were just so excited to be getting all of their family and friends together and celebrate. And boy did we! Those fireworks were a surprise to everyone!

Cheers to Amanda and Joe, their lovable, amazing families and the new addition on the way! Thank you for making us a part of your family – we can’t wait to see you all again and look forward to all your amazing property will produce! XO

If you haven’t seen this pretty little ditty on shelves and stands all over, get your hands on it now! We are so excited to announce that we have not one, not two, but three amazingly wonderful couples and weddings featured inside the brand new issue of Bliss Celebrations Guide. We cannot wait to give you more of their story in the coming weeks as we share their weddings right here on the Jubilee Events blog!

Stay tuned, but in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek of these darlings:

PAGE 80 (Photography by Robert and Kathleen): Yuna and Barrett were married at the Old Saybrook Point Inn and Spa Fourth of July weekend. This day was nothing short of romantic and personal in every way! Did you see that bow on Yuna’s Badgley Mischka gown?

Page 180 (Photography by Armor + Martel): Amy and Scott were a dream, and so was every detail of their wedding! Married right in Newport mid-July, every last bit of perfection was wrapped up into their day. Dripped in classic elegance, we had the most wonderful time celebrating these two! I can’t help but admit, we are still dreaming about their florals – thank you for that Sayles Livingston Design!

Page 194 (Photography by Carla Ten Eyck Photography): Amanda and Joe are a very special couple and their wedding launched a very special new endeavor for Amanda’s family as they branded their wedding location into a brand new event space, the perfectly natural and picturesque Heritage Homestead. We cannot wait to share more about their day, especially the surprise fireworks!

Thank you so much, Bliss!! We loved soaking ourselves up in each page of your magazine and cannot tell you how truly wonderful it is to see such beautiful couples and weddings within. XO!

It’s not every day you decide to host a wedding in your own backyard, but when you do, you can believe it’s a day we all come to cherish and remember. What better place to celebrate a day in your family’s history than in your own home? The personal details and signature design become so significant to seeing your day unfold. This romantic wedding was no exception in our books!

Set on the family’s private estate, our couple wanted a wedding design the complimented their surroundings. We kept the color story soft and simple: blush, green, and white and infused an organic, romantic style with modern elements. The floral design of this wedding brought about that natural, rustic style with the long, lush garlands with blush and ivory blooms tucked throughout. Our stunning clear top tent, lighting and lounge furniture was a nod to a more clean and modern design.

Our tent was dressed with sparkling crystal chandeliers and clean white draping set in between rows of full bloom hydrangea bushes. The chandeliers and candlelight were enhanced by our white dance floor, creating such a soft, natural glow. The tables were textured with rustic pieces reminiscent of our outdoor ceremony, set in front of the family’s pond, hugged around their favorite Oak tree, which became a personal motif we used in stationery details throughout the weekend.

Trying to merge these two styles of rustic and modern can be challenging, but our all-star creative team was able to pull of the delicate balance of the two. We always enjoy working with the wonderfully creative minds of our industry and each vendor who was a part of this magnificent wedding listened to what the couple wanted and made magic to bring their vision to life!

Color experts Pantone released their color of the year for 2014– and it’s a shade of purple know as Radiant Orchid! We’ve done so many gorgeous events, celebrations and weddings in this tone. I thought I’d share a few images from some of our favorite parties featuring Radiant Orchid, a color you can easily incorporate into your design through flowers, linens, stationery, food, and details. Enjoy! xx

In May of 2010, Carla Ten Eyck and I taught a 3 day intensive workshop called Collaborate & Create, which focused on working with a community of talents to pull together a styled shoot. Along with an amazing group of attendees, we also had the support and creative styling of our usual team to help pull together FIVE gorgeous shoots in 3 days!

We designed this shoot to be rich in color and slightly quirky. There are a lot of textures and patterns and they all work really well together. Sometimes people get scared of mixing patterns and textures and instead, stick to a very generic formula of matching colors and fabrics. In some instances, that look can be wonderful– but with most designs, I really encourage you to embrace texture, color, and patterns. It will make your look three dimensional and more interesting!

This shoot primarily took place on the gorgeous front wrap around porch of The Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. We set up a beautiful tablescape, which has become one of my all time favorites, with mix-matched china (some vintage, some rental), vintage silverware, hanging mirrors, vintage and rental linens, and an AMAZING centerpiece chandelier that hung above the table (with a little help from our team!).

This shoot was also debuted on Style Me Pretty last week in a lovely feature. Go check it out!
