We are so fortunate to have been asked again to produce an editorial shoot for The Connecticut Bride Magazine. Inspired by the city of Hartford, we shot in several iconic locations: The Old State House, Gershon Fox Room, Society Room, City Hall, Mark Twain House, and Elizabeth Park. Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the shore styled six amazing looks featuring the world renowned and Connecticut based designer, Modern Trousseau. Tony from Datura: A Modern Garden created gorgeous bouquets inspired by each look, and Dana Bartone & Co. styled all the fabulous hair and makeup. We can’t wait to show you all the amazing images captured by Carla Ten Eyck. Be sure to pick up a copy of The Connecticut Bride on newsstands next week. But before you do– check out a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this shoot through the lens of the talented Jim Altieri of Vintage Cinema.

Christina and Doug’s families are such a blast and I can’t wait to see all of them celebrate this day they have eagerly been waiting for. We have the privilege of working with so many creative talents today, like Jennie Fresa, Hana Floral Design, Vantage Point Films, Derek Fowles Photography, Millennium Music, and DJ Bob Raina! Looking forward to getting this day started!

We were so excited to be apart of the planning for the grand opening of the newest event space in Connecticut– the historic Lace Factory in Deep River. It was a gorgeous and fun filled evening hosted by Bliss Celebrations Magazine and catered by Cloud Nine with nosh and nibbly from made to order mac n’ cheese to personal pizzas and sliders. Guests road on the antique Essex Steam Train and were greeted with champagne alongside the newest line of gowns from The White Dress by the shore, Ivy & Aster.

We transformed the raw, industrial style space with gorgeous lounge furniture, custom pillows, driftwood furniture, draping and chandeliers from Ryan Designs. The evening’s plighting and entertainment was provided by Rob Alberti Special Events. We brought in a gorgeous black and white checkered dance floor from Connecticut Rental Center and bright citrus orange linens from Rentals Unlimited.?Datura: A Modern Garden created artistic centerpieces using floral, greenery, rock, moss, and other interesting pieces. Tony even suspended tropicals from the ceiling! Coral Pheasant designed a beautiful e-vitation for the event.

The Lace Factory is a gorgeous location for your wedding or event. With it’s raw, industrial space, the possibilities for a uniquely designed event are endless.

Big thanks to all our amazing vendors who participated and the Lace Factory for inviting us to join them on such a wonderful grand opening!

What a gorgeous Monday morning for a wedding– congratulations to Leigh and Kelsey! They are getting married at Belle Mer in Newport, surrounded by their lovely family and friends who are in for a wonderful afternoon lunch overlooking the water. We are excited to be working with an stellar team of vendors (and friends), Carla Ten Eyck Photography and Datura: A Modern Garden.
Congratulations Leigh and Kelsey– we couldn’t be more excited, happy, and truly honored to be part of your wedding day. xxoo!

Today is going to be sunny, warm, bright and DRY– because it’s Catie and Mike’s wedding day! I’ve been busy prepping for their beautiful and casual country wedding at Catie’s childhood home in Washington, Connecticut all week. Their 200+ guests are going to be delighted by a gorgeous evening in the country under a big white tent with delicious food by Emily’s Catering and beautiful flowers by Azalea Floral Design. Congratulations Catie and Mike– we can’t wait to get the day started!

To say the Jubilee Events team is excited for this weekend is an understatement! While Candice, Danielle, and Nichole are headed down to Washington for Catie and Mike’s wedding, Lindsay and I are spending the day with Lindsay and Matt in East Norwalk at the Shore and Country Club!

I started working with Lindsay and Matt about a year ago and I am beyond excited to be with them as two best friends become husband and wife. We have many fan favorites that will be with us today, like Robert and Kathleen, Heartbeat Dance Band, Edible Dreams Cakes, and Starbright Floral Design!

Lindsay and Matt–CONGRATULATIONS and thank you so much for having us be a part of your day! We are thrilled to see your story come to life! XOXO

Truth be told, I’ve been hard core rockin’ a blue stripe with sequin and anything sparkley for some time. I love the idea of dressing up something that otherwise would be consider super casual. I’m on a mission to design a nautical glam wedding– with lots of glitter and sparkle! The key to achieving this look is the right balance between casual and dressed up. For daytime, I love the sequin blue and white striped shirt paired with some jeans and glitter ballet flats. For evening, the sequin skirt paired with a blue and white striped shirt is perfect. Dress it up with some understated heals, an over-the-top sequin clutch, and bold red lips. A big “installation” of crystal bracelets going up your forearm would look amazing!

Translate this into a wedding by using blue and white striped linens with glitter and sparkle accent pieces if you want to be on the more casual side. For an evening wedding, go heavy on the glitz by using sequin linens and nautical details in your napkin, paper story, food, and unique decor ideas.

Happy Planning! xo
