Hey now! If you’ve been following us ladies long enough, you’ll know we are kate spade obsessed gals (it’s actually a job requirement to work at
Jubilee Events &
Jubilee Events: Caribbean). We wanted to share this tablescape shoot we designed for an industry event as a little inspiration for a New Years Eve dinner party you might be throwing this year. Gather your friends around the table, break out those kate spade plates you registered for (yaaaasss!) and create a fun, colorful and jubilant environment for 2016. You can take any element of this tablescape to make it your own, but here are some focal points we want you to consider!:
- Black and White Contrasting Stripes: We love this linen we used, but if you don’t have a black and white linen, try making black and white striped menu cards or searching for some black and white striped napkins.
- Bright Yellow Charger: One of our favorite details! This charger plate works because it’s a bright color and ties in the yellow from our centerpiece. Don’t have (or can’t find) yellow chargers? Pick up some inexpensive yellow bread plates and/or dessert plates and layer your dishes. You can also pick up some yellow paper at your local craft store and cut it into large circles, which will act like a placemat under each placesetting.
- Confetti Crackers: These are so easy to make! Save those empty toilet paper rolls and head over to this website for a simple tutorial.
- Sequin (obvi!): There are plenty of ways to get a little sparkle into your tablescape. Don’t have sequin chair covers (if you do– props!)? Use sequin ribbon on your chairs, around your napkin, or wrapped around your centerpieces.
Remember, you don’t need to completely replicate something to get the look. Be inspired by images and then get crafty to make it your own. Happy entertaining!
