As our season winds down, I love looking back at the year we’ve had here at Jubilee Events to remember all the wonderful people we’ve worked with and the amazing places we’ve been. Since I’ve been using instagram pretty frequently, I thought it would be fun to take a journey through our year via the images from our instagram feed. Every few days, we’ll share a new month with all our readers and reveal some never before seen images from our spectacular events and travels! Be sure to follow me on instagram at @eventjubilee. We always highlight our featured company related images and travels under the hashtag #eventjubilee.

January was a fun month for us and it started with a spectacular party launching the luxury collective known as inWHITE— a group of amazing wedding experts on the shoreline. We danced the night away under a Sperry Tent with rockin’ tunes from Elan Artists. It was quite the party! You can see more images from these fabulous fete by visiting our blogpost highlighting the event.

After our party, I flew out to Salt Lake City to attend a blogging conference with my friend Kasey Conyers of Bliss Event Design. While there, we headed up the mountain to beautiful Park City and took in a few days at Sundance. What a dream! We had so much and I hope to go back again in 2013!

This month, Jubilee Events will be donating a percentage of our sales to the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation. One of our favorite places to source wedding day props and décor items is One Kings Lane. In fact, our browsers are almost constantly open to the site so we don’t miss a thing. Today we are going a little crazy because One Kings Lane is hosting some of our favorite wedding experts for a Tastemaker Tag Sale. As you would expect, we are just dying to get our hands on these stunning items curated by New York-based florist Ron Wendt, wedding planner Yifat Oren, famed jeweler Miriam Haskell and many more. Visit One Kings Lane today to have a look at some of the stunning items on sale for up to 70 percent off. We’ll try not to buy it all before you get there!

There are so many things we love about weddings, and linens top the short list over here at Jubilee Events. Add in customizable options and you’ve got us hook, line and sinker. Its no wonder we fell in love with Nuage Designs the moment we saw them. The innovative designs and vibrant colors in silk and organza fabrics are pure luxury. The collection is so extensive we are having a hard time narrowing down our favorites.
It’s our pleasure to announce that we are now carrying the full collection of linens. To see more, visit Nuage Designs online or ask to see samples next time you visit our studio. We can’t wait to dress up your next event with Nuage!

My name is Libby Basile and I am so excited to join the Jubilee Events team in the spring—the same time so many newly engaged couples are beginning their wedding plans. I can’t wait to meet all the new brides sporting sparkly engagement rings. It’s the same way I felt when I saw the work that Jubilee Events has done all over the state. I am simply smitten. Candice and her staff create the most beautiful and well thought out events, and I just knew that I had to be a part of the team.
I recently moved to Connecticut from New York City where I worked as a magazine editor for seven years. My first editorial gig was with Modern Bride. I hauled huge garment bags across the city and spoke with real brides being featured in upcoming issues. If I wasn’t pouring over magazine proofs, I was sorting through piles of accessories in the fashion closet. That’s when I absolutely fell in love with weddings. Now, I’m thrilled to transfer my editing skills to event planning.
I live in New Haven with my husband who graciously let me take over the plans for our big day last spring. We wanted a wedding that was unlike any other but still incorporated all the things that are meaningful to us as a couple (including Pepe’s Pizza). I treated the planning of my own event the same way I would any other—with tireless perfection and attention to detail.
When I don’t have my head buried in the latest wedding magazine I’m in the kitchen trying out a new recipe, roaming through one of Connecticut’s beautiful vineyards with family and friends or spending more than I should on a new dress or pair of shoes—even if I don’t have anywhere to go. My motto is a girl should always be prepared!

On Monday I had the honor of accompanying Beth Chapman and her talented team to New York to meet talented designer Amsale Aberra and her husband, Neil Brown, at their studio.
Amsale is one of the few design houses that designs and produces all of their gowns in-house in New York. Amsale Aberra launched her signature bridal collection in the late 80’s after getting married herself and recognizing the need for fashionable, sophisticated and timeless gowns. The Amsale brand now also manufactures and designs the Christos and Kenneth Pool collections.
We received a behind-the-scenes tour of the showroom and production areas and were able to witness patterns being made, gowns being cut and sewn, beaders hand-sewing crystals one by one onto gowns and most importantly, we got a sneak peak on some of the new designs that will be gracing the runway in April!
During our visit, we learned that an individual pattern is made for every single gown that is produced. It was amazing to watch the staff in pristine white coats draping and sewing each gown one at a time- each one, a unique masterpiece.
The highlight of our day was meeting the talented designer behind the brand, Amsale Aberra. She spoke with us in depth about her vision for creating modern, elegant gowns. She said that she hates to be asked about what the current trends are. She does not believe in trends. She believes in creating gowns that are timeless and that a bride can confidently look back on in 10, 20 or 50 years and still love! She gave us a sneak peak at some of the stunning creations that she is working on for her latest collection and also gave us a glimpse into her design process.
Here are a few behind-the scenes shots of the workroom:

After our tour, we were treated to a delicious Italian meal with Amsale, her husband Neil and our sales rep, Saundra, at Amsale’s favorite restaurant!
Many thanks to The White Dress by the shore blog for the pictures above and details about our lunch!
XOXO
