Going through the images from the incredibly savvy and talented Julie, Jazz, and Ryan from Carla Ten Eyck Studios, my heart begins to spill over. I have yet to get through all of these photos without an overwhelming sense of appreciation and love–all for Jenn and Nitin who gave us the wonderful chance to work with them through their three part fete. That’s correct, I said three parts! Little did any of us know that we would all fall in love with these two by the end of planning, for they are one of the loveliest, most compassionate, and bubbly couples I’ve ever come into contact with. Their wedding…prepare yourself! The detail, the colors, and the dancing were in no short supply that day!
The first part was their gorgeous Korean celebration that was only a small indication of the party to come–a small and intimate affair, but fun nonetheless. The next day, we started off in Groton, CT where Jenn and Nitin rose with the sun. Bless these two as they had such a long day ahead of them, yet they were nothing but smiles all day and all night! There was a quote from Jenn and Nitin’s ceremony: “Marriage unites two families, not only two individuals,” that couldn’t have been more true and perfect that day! A large group of guests gathered together for the baraat, which is the groom’s procession to the ceremony. All friends and both families lively danced, sang, and celebrated Nitin and the moments to come. It was hard not to stop and join in or watch the procession. As we could see from the pools of people surrounding us–the energy was completely contagious!
From there, we witnessed the most beautiful marriage ceremony dripping in red, yellow, marigolds, and flower petals. As with all weddings, it is a privilege to be a part of the story and the love on a wedding day, but to understand the steps they take to become one and the symbolism behind each ritual left us in awe. It was truly extraordinary!
Jenn and Nitin–thank you for inviting us to be a part of your beautiful story that day. I can’t wait to relive Part II of your wedding day and feel the excitement bursting all over again! XO
