A Jubilee Event: Katie & Mike’s Ombre Wedding at The Branford House, Groton, Connecticut

It’s A Jubilee Event of epic proportions today! To say that I miss working with Katie and her wonderful mom, Barb, would be an understatement. They were one of my favorite duo’s from 2011! We started off their wedding design in shades of the lightest pink to the deepest red, we came up with a gorgeous ombre color story and infused that into their design in everything from floral, linens and paper. Katie is definitely a glamour girl and in our first meeting she told me that she wanted to have a lot of sparkle! Katie handmade her gorgeous shoes, bridal clutch and stunning veil with hundreds of swarovski crystals– and we brought in more sparkle with our gorgeous rentable venetian crystal candelabras for centerpieces and shimmering gold sequin linens. Yumiko of Hana Floral Design created amazing arrangements in ombre patterns and designed a STUNNING mantel with huge flowers and hanging crystals. Some of my favorite details include the pavilion Sperry Tent, the beautiful paper hand crafted by the bride, the sweet biscotti favors at each place setting and our beautiful gold flatware!

We integrated the ombre style into many details of Katie and Mike’s wedding design; from the petals down the aisle and the flowers that hung from the chairs, to Katie’s bouquet, the fire place mantel, and tablescapes. I absolutely love this look– romantic, dramatic, interesting, luxurious.

I have to give up a moment of silence for Yumiko and her team at Hana Floral Design, who straight up rocked this weddings floral design to the nth degree. I mean, can we discuss the mantel piece? Can we discuss how difficult it is to do an ombre bouquet in the round? Yumiko used beautiful flowers through out– from a dozen or more types and colors of roses, to dahlias, orchids and beyond.

A huge thank you to the incredibly talented team at Binary Flips for these beautiful images! And thank you to all our amazing vendors who made this wedding stunning!
