I love these nontraditional poses with your bridal party. My favorite one is from Justin & Mary Marantz with the entire wedding party holding umbrellas. Who says rain on your wedding day can’t make for a fabulous photo opportunity? Here are some of my favorite shots of 2008:

I’m not sure that this collection of pictures needs an introduction. They are the reason why we do what we do! Here are some of my favorite snapshots from the literal “I Do’s” of this year. Leading off the post is my absolute favorite picture, which I gush about to Rob Trenske on a daily basis. No really, I do. I don’t know why I love this picture so much — maybe it is the movement of the picture, the way the couple is locked in an unscripted kiss, the bubbles, the the vintage colors, or the guests’ silhouettes in the background.

Another favorite of mine is from Rob & Kathleen Trenske, too. This photograph shows the pure jubilation and love of that first kiss as man and wife (check out their family rejoicing in the background!)

And now for more equally amazing ceremony moments…

One of my favorite details about a wedding is the bridal bouquet. So much about a brides personal style is wrapped up in one bouquet of flowers! I know photographers love to capture the bouquet in a way that pays tribute to a bride and her style. There is something really beautiful about seeing a bridal bouquet, alone, waiting to be brought down the aisle. These are some of my favorite bouquet shots.

I have to admit, this is my favorite moment of the entire wedding day. There is something so amazing about a bride being surrounded by generations of important women as she puts her dress on, like so many of them did before her. It is a time when emotions begin to run raw, where mom and grandma get tiery-eyed, and the bride sees the culmination of her life thus far staring back at her in the mirror. Here are some of my favorite getting ready shots:

Connecticut brides are seriously blessed to have some of the most AMAZING photographers right here in our state. I’ve gone around to my favorite photographer’s blogs and plucked my favorite photographs of 2008. Stay tuned!
I met with Rob and Kathleen of Robert & Kathleen Photography earlier this week and I have been an avid blog stalker of their work for at least a year. They are both so incredibly talented and I can’t wait for the opportunity when we can work together! On Sunday, Rob posted some breathtaking pictures of a wedding he had done the day before for a beautiful couple named Allison & Bryan. I don’t normally post weddings that are not our own, but the images are too spectacular for me not to share.
The elated couple had a gorgeous church wedding with their reception at the picturesque Candlewood Inn. On the way to the church, Rob & Kathleen drove by a local carnival and thought it would make for some interesting photographs. The bride and groom thought so too. The result? Some of the most beautiful and unexpected photographs I’ve ever seen. All brides hope that their photographer is able to capture that unforeseen moment on their wedding day and translate it onto film… Rob & Kathleen captured that special moment (and they always do) for this special couple.
I know, I know! You want to see the images.. be sure to click the thumbnails to take in the full version. Also check out more beautiful pictures from this event (and feel free to add them to your “blog stalk” list): http://www.robertandkathleen.com. Lastly, Congratulations to Allision & Bryan!
