Here, we share expert planning tips, design inspiration, real event stories, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the magic we create. Whether you’re dreaming up your wedding, hosting a milestone event, or simply looking for creative ideas to make life’s moments more special, our journal is filled with insights to guide and inspire. At Jubilee Events, we believe every celebration should be as meaningful as it is beautiful—so let’s bring your vision to life, one unforgettable detail at a time!

Jordan! My dear Jordan! My kindred spirit in all things cupcakes and dessert. Kind, genuine, and charmingly funny, all traits mirrored in her hubby, Mike! Behind everything the other one did, you always saw some helpful intent, something that said “I am here to take care of you.” Behind every action and every word was warmth and love. As I went through these images, the ones most noticeable were those of Jordan and Mike smiling. I found myself doing the same as I spent time with each one because their happiness is so infectious!! Tell me you didn’t do this as well!
Details and decor are something we have a keen appetite for and our family knew just how to love it the same! Not only was our church the most stunningly ornate setting for our vows that day, but the bride’s family’s home was packed with keepsakes and ornamentation that told a story about them. Inside the home, Jordan’s mom had displayed her own wedding dress — as well as those of other family members! It made you feel like that little girl that ooh-ed and aah-ed over the array of gowns in the windows as you passed by.
Set under a dreamy Sperry Tent with lights to match the twinkling night sky, we created a room that would be colorful, energetic, and the perfect complement of summer and fall as we fell right into that particular season. We were so lucky to have the works of Elisabeth from Blush Floral Design gracing our tables and tent. To pair with our blue and slate tones in our linens and stationery, our florals were packed with warms hues in cranberry, marsala, and blush, bursting from their gold vessels (the dahlias!!!)! We used this plan for our table decor to inspire our amazing paper story, created and designed by one of our favorite masterminds, Nichole from Coral Pheasant Stationery.
Now this family was one after my own heart. As you may have gathered in my entirely too brief explanation of how wonderful Jordan and Mike are, these two are food lovers, most specifically in terms of dessert – my kind of people! One of my favorite details of this wedding was the create-your-own cupcake bar, courtesy of the amazing Sweet Maria’s. Here, guests selected their favorite flavor cupcake, buttercream filling, buttercream topping in any design they wish, and a few additional goodies to add a signature flare. Two of the most important aspects of the event came together in a smashing way!
My other favorite? Well, what happens when you have a little time between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of your reception? It only made sense to bring along an ice cream truck, none other than College Creamery, stocked with all of the nostalgic treats that we think of when we hear the jingle of the truck’s melody approaching our street.
Jordan and Mike, thank you both so much for allowing us to be a part of such a fairy tale day! We so appreciate you letting us into your home and bringing your story to life there. We wish you many days of happiness paired with endless amounts of sweets. Cheers to you and your families!! XO

A little recipe from the cookbook of all things dreamy and inspiring… First, gather a handful of creatives all equally excited to bring their talents together and collaborate. Next, find a unique venue that boasts the perfect setting for all the ideas in your head. Meet and giddily discuss the endless possibility for what can happen in said space. Finally, bring your talents to reality!
When we first met at Hog River Brewery, we were elated to find this little gem of a space hidden in the streets of Hartford. It was everything we needed to set the tone for the day, though, and we couldn’t wait to see our mock event come to life! As a side note, you have to visit Joy and Ben immediately!! This brewery is family run and full of the most down to earth people behind it. We adored getting to know Joy and it was such a treat to be in this space!!
Our first look at in the brewery set the tone for our shoot inspiration, Urban Oasis. Inside we found brick walls and concrete floors, lots of industrial fixtures and tall spacious ceilings with a laid back welcoming vibe. Libby and I were ready to hit the inspiration board!
It’s modern, fresh and edgy and we worked to create a design that fits with the look of the brewery while also bringing it to life with organic and natural elements. We kept the color story neutral—vivid green, white and concrete grey with mixed metals like copper, steel and gold. With hanging greenery installations, a living wall, modern and fresh drapery and bountiful floral details, we sought to create an oasis inside this industrial space. The looks comes together through the talents of Ryan Designs and Flowers by Justine, along with details from a local maker, Hartford Prints and local chalk artist Jaime LaDucer of Chalk Art New England (wait until you see her creations!!) and some fresh new rental items from Peak Event Services, a division of Rentals Unlimited that is currently launching.

It wouldn’t be fresh and modern without bridal looks right from the bridal market!! Our stylist, Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the Shore, selected several new looks from her visit to bridal market in New York weeks earlier to guarantee our look in new and edgy.
A little more on Beth’s inspiration: In order to offset the rustic vibe of the brewery, I selected fashion that was clean, modern and sophisticated. The long sleeve Antonio Gual crepe gown embodied both of those characteristics. The dramatic open back provided a little bit of edge and sex appeal. The reception dress from Blush by Hayley Paige carried through the sophisticated feel, but added a subtle touch of sparkle to signify that this indeed was a party! The deep red of the Amsale bridesmaid dress was the perfect compliment to the soft tones of the gorgeous florals.

On the day of, we were swimming in ideas and it was a blast to see everyone doing what they do best and having so much fun in doing it!! Thank you to all of our masterminds behind this shoot!! We are still dying over it (and those buckets of flowers, Justine!!)!

There is nothing we adore more than a great love story! Of course, we are met with many every day as we elaborate on them to design and plan our clients’ weddings. Nicole and Mikey’s story was one in the making since they were 9 years old, a detail that only began to etch at how sweet their love is for one another. As someone who loves special and symbolic meanings, it is vital that we note Nicole and Mikey’s wedding date of September 9th – a day that has become a part of our hearts forever!
As our dear bride put it perfectly, “What started as a school kid crush has flourished into a lifelong friendship and commitment to one another…” filled with the greatest of adventures. When you glance at Nicole and Mikey, you still catch that flirtatious look they would sneak one another, the inevitable smile that made your cheeks warm, and your heart feeling like it would beat right out of your chest.
Meeting their families only cemented the love these two grew, for this group was the epitome of family! They were so ready to celebrate love and every time you were in their presence, you felt like you were at your own family gathering, just short of a homemade lasagna on the table! It was no wonder how Nicole and Mikey grew a unit full of care, admiration, and respect of their own that you are proud to witness.
Furthermore, you saw this in the way Nicole and Mikey hosted their guests that day, treating them to thoughtful touches from the moment they arrived with welcome sips and treats and all throughout the reception as everyone found little personalized notes on straws and their menu cards. The sweetest display was the literal family tree that anchored our couple’s ceremony space, beginning their journey with those most important standing beside them. It was a crowd favorite to read the moniker the ever-famous Julia Child coined: “Dining with one’s friends and beloved family is one of life’s primal and most innocent delights – one that is both soul satisfying and eternal.” A gentle but momentous reminder why we were all together that day!
Now, with a story so incredible and a love so deep, you knew their wedding day could only mirror such romance. Starting with the Webb Barn, Nicole brought in a soft palette, ideas of crystal chandeliers, and sheer, draping fabrics to complement the dark wood of the venue. We added touches of gold throughout the space not only through some of our rented pieces, but with a series of mismatched, gold framed mirrors that reflected the energy brought into the barn by our couple and their family and friends. We are forever grateful to have had the wildly talented Katie Slater on board for the day as she captured every bit of the emotion and beauty present that day!
We also had a collection of beautiful vintage furniture – from seating to that gorgeous vintage desk guests used to sign that guest book – that our couple found at various flea markets or from their own home. Along planning, it was a pleasure to learn of Nicole’s keen eye for detail and design – it was a true collaboration of sorts and an endearing process to watch her vision come to life. It was this day just over a year ago that inspired our girl to launch her new venture: A Turning Page, a studio offering design, styling, and decor services to all of CT. We cannot wait to see the heights this takes off to, but more importantly, we cannot wait to get our hands on the various goodies that Nicole and Mikey have single handedly discovered and refurbished. 9.9 is living proof!
Nicole and Mikey, thank you so much for giving us the wonderful opportunity to learn your story and see it come to life. With a history rooted so deep, we are honored to have witness a day out of many that will be full of happiness and excitement. Cheers to many lifetimes of adventure!! For over a year I had the pleasure to get to know Yuna and Barrett and their families as we planned their summer nuptials at the Saybrook Point Inn and Spa. They shared with me their novel-worthy love story from when they met on the crew team at Princeton University, their romantic courtship throughout college and a hilarious re-telling of their proposal on a rainy evening in Washington D.C. that involved fending off uninvited wildlife! Through it all I discovered that while these two were planning most of their wedding apart—Yuna spent a good part of the year living with her family in Japan while Barrett finished up work in Washington D.C.—they had most certainly nurtured their initial connection into deep roots for a loving life together. In fact, they had technically already made it official before we even got started in a Japanese wedding ceremony early last fall.
Yuna and Barrett’s Japanese wedding was steeped in tradition including beautiful ceremonies and rich, colorful garments. Their American wedding was much the same—they worked with Mary Coburn to write a ceremony that honored American traditions, inclusive of their families and friends.
Yuna wanted a romantic color story with a soft feminine feel to it. We kept the colors light throughout the design and brought in a darker charcoal shade as an accent. Blush was really the anchor of our color story. It was used throughout the design, in flowers, attire, paper goods and sweets! We brought in the colors grey and silver to help set the design apart. We really worked hard to use these colors in a way that was a bit different, and more personal to the couple.
There were so many great details that they worked so hard on dreaming up and I want to call out a few of my favorite ones. Guests were greeted with a fresh baked cookie and hotel key cards in custom printed envelopes with transportation details in lieu of a traditional welcome bag.
Yuna and Barrett selected grey linens and a beautiful silver, art deco-style china pattern from Rentals Unlimited. The china had a unique mix and match pattern that Yuna fell in love with. We asked Nichole of Coral Pheasant to create round menu cards that fit inside the dinner plate. She used a coordinating grey, script font, and calliagraphed each guests’ name to the top of the menu so it also served as a place card.
Yuna also asked Nichole to design a custom floral print to line the outer envelopes of their invitation suite. The blush and pink print featured large orchids which were a nod to Yuna’s Japanese culture. We repeated this print during cocktail hour—sheets of the patterned paper were printed and used a tray liners for passed hors d’oeuvres.
The color combo appeared again in the favors, which were mini heart-shaped cheese cakes that Yuna’s family brought to the wedding directly from Japan! We added grey and pink paper bows to the pink and white cakes. When Yuna’s dad came to me with two rolling suit cases filled with the desserts that he had just carried over from Japan my heart almost burst. Its always fun to incorporate such personal details into weddings but this one really had some legs—literally!
Floral decor, by Blush Floral Design, was a huge part of what brought the design to life. They decided to use all white flowers for her ceremony. This included large white altar arrangements that framed the couple during their vows which took place by the marina. Yuna carried a lush bouquet of all white flowers, large orchids cascaded out and were a nod to her Japanese culture. Each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of all white flowers in a single variety. It lent a very sophisticated look and the all white was modern and elegant. Flowers in the ballroom featured mostly lush white blooms and pops of pink peonies. Orchids also cascaded down from the tall arrangements and were neatly tucked into the smaller ones.
When you pair two truly lovely and stylish people with some of the most talented vendors in the state there is no end to the beauty they can create. Thankfully Robert and Kathleen Photographers were on hand to capture it all. Here are some of our favorite images from the day.

When people ask about my family, I can’t help but excitedly express, “Oh, it’s a big family! Passionate, fun… the best really!” But, you know what? I walk away from each wedding with a little more family than I started off with. The Bozzutos and Marescas were no exception. They not only opened their amazing home, but hearts, to everyone. They are such a warm, tight knit group of people that planning their day felt like the best part of putting together a family holiday, making the day one of the most memorable weddings to grace a summer day. Not only did we have the best setting for Amanda and Joe’s wedding, but their day birthed the idea to host more weddings and events at their family farm, perfectly known as Heritage Homestead right here in quaint Northford. The views of Southern Connecticut are beautifully natural and create the perfect backdrop for any ceremony or tented reception and we cannot wait to get back there for more amazing events!
Their tent from Greenwich Tent Co. and the on site pavilion housed all of our guests that evening. Soft, ethereal draping and gold pendant chandeliers watched over all the toasts and cheers while guests gathered on our various lounges set up throughout both spaces. Instead of a sit down dinner, we opted for a more relaxed cocktail style menu, where the ever-amazing A Thyme to Cook provided spreads of fresh, savory offerings across thoughtfully designed farm tables and hand passed trays. Our bride, Amanda of A. Marie Designs, one of the head honchos behind Heritage Homestead, designed all of the paper and signage for her day. Starting with the textural cotton paper from Copper Willow Paper Studio, beautifully plated with gold calligraphy all the way to the hand detailed mirrors and glass panels, there was no detail left undone.
Amanda and Joe had been together from a young age and their love story still held every bit of admiration and eager anticipation for all of life’s adventures together and this was felt by everyone who knew them! Their smiles were infectious and brilliant. Their excitement overflowing. Better than Batman and Robin, a beach and a cocktail, chocolate and peanut butter, everyone who was in their presence knew this was a duo better than the rest. I was very lucky to work closely with the stunning Amanda and her mom, Kathy, the two most wonderful hearts and spirits you will ever meet. They were one of those families who were just so excited to be getting all of their family and friends together and celebrate. And boy did we! Those fireworks were a surprise to everyone!
Cheers to Amanda and Joe, their lovable, amazing families and the new addition on the way! Thank you for making us a part of your family – we can’t wait to see you all again and look forward to all your amazing property will produce! Our company has had the privilege of helping a lot of our colleagues in the wedding industry get married, but today’s wedding is such a special one for me to share– it’s the wedding of one of my closest friends! Steve and I have been good friends for a number of years. Thinking back on all the years we’ve known one another, we have a lot of hilarious memories shared between us. He has always been one of the few people in my life who I consider to be a trusted adviser– and I’m grateful for his friendship.
So, since I know Steve so well, I thought I would share a little more about him and how this day came to be! You could say that Steve was probably the most eligible bachelor in Connecticut– perhaps all of the tri-state area depending on who you talked to. BUT– he was also pretty unlucky in love. He even got pretty far in the casting process of Andi’s season of the Bachelorette but didn’t end up making it to the limo, which in hindsight, was perhaps the best rejection he’d ever been met with. Because…
I still remember the day he called me to tell me about a woman he had met who he really liked. I was a bit skeptical– NOT of the woman, but of Steve! I told him that no matter where this budding romance went he should always have her best interest in mind. He agreed, and over the course of a few months, his romance with Lauren Ann (his now wife) grew. I also remember the day he told me that he had fallen in love with her and he thought she could be “the one.” He confided in me that he wanted to propose and soon, the hunt for the most beautiful engagement ring began. He spent a lot of time researching the beautiful rose gold ring he proposed to Lauren Ann with, and my husband and I were so elated that the two had made it official. The countdown to the wedding was on!
Lauren Ann is more than the perfect match for Steve– she is Steve– but with beautiful blonde hair and a better sense of humor! She is everything you could wish for in a partner for someone you care about– kind, thoughtful, HONEST, funny, beautiful, talented and totally devoted. Their love story is really special because the two had taken very different paths in life, but fate intervened and brought them together.
Steve has been a wedding photographer for a long time and has photographed hundreds (if not thousands) of beautiful celebrations over the years. When it came to his own wedding, he and Lauren Ann wanted to celebrate their love in a place that was special to them. They both live in the small coastal town of Guilford, Connecticut and incorporated so many personal touches on this beautiful spring day. From the locally sourced favors to the grocery store on the town green as their wedding venue, their wedding was truly a home town wedding.
They also enlisted some of their closest friends and colleagues in the wedding industry– actually– all their vendors were friends! From Beth Chapman from The White Dress by the shore who dressed Lauren Ann to Robert Norman, a photographer who officiated the wedding. They had a general vision and let all their vendors run with it (which for us, is the best!), and the outcome was nothing short of beautiful. I think the detail that left us all in awe was the barren apple tree Yumiko Fletcher from Hana Floral Design transformed into a blooming backdrop for their ceremony. YES– that tree was nothing more than grey sticks until Yumiko and her team made it into what you see. Incredible!
A special thank you to Justin & Mary for the beautiful images from the day. J&M are also dear friends to Steve and have been since he opened his photography business. I know they were so moved to photograph his wedding and I feel as though the photographs reflect that.
Congrats LA & Steve and happy almost 1 year anniversary! I love you both and I can’t wait to see what is in store for your family and marriage in the years to come.

I’m really excited to share these images by Brigham and Co. Photography of Courtney and Matt’s wedding. Looking through them and reliving this perfect late summer day has really brightened up my week! I was lucky to work one-on-one with this sweet couple, and to witness their love for each other and their excitement to start their life together first hand. Looking back through these images I can still see their love just as vividly as I did on their wedding day and I think you will too with just a glance!
Not only do these two have a love to envy, they have the most flawless taste and a style that can’t be matched. Courtney incorporated soft shades of blush, peach, grey and ivory to create a look that was formal, classic and elegant. Together we focused on creating a beautiful setting under the tented patio for guests to enjoy cocktails and dancing. (And dance they did! DJ Max Baun of C-Zone Entertainment kept everyone on their feet!) Courtney wanted the space to have a romantic feel and opted for a soft blush draping and crystal chandeliers. The stellar handiwork of Ryan Designs, paired with perfect late summer blooms by Just For You Floral Design Studio and savory bites by David Alan Catering came together for a truly remarkable evening.
Working with Courtney and Matt to build a wedding that was everything they had been dreaming of was so much fun. Every planning task—from sourcing vintage frames to use as props to designing a custom corn hole set to scouring linen swatches for that just right shade of blush—was completed with so much excitement and enthusiasm. We had such a good time in the days and months leading up to the wedding, and the end the evening truly was bittersweet.
It was hard to narrow down all of my favorite images so here are more than a few. I hope these two smiling lovers brighten your day up, too!

It is not lost on us how privileged we are to be a part of so many couples’ and families’ personal history. We have earned the opportunity to witness incredible examples of love, family, and celebration. It is so bittersweet to see a wedding day draw to a close – we love to see the entire planning and design process come to life and we absolutely adore seeing the faces of our beloved clients when they walk into their space, but saying goodbye is the worst! Our couples become our friends… a part of our own little family.
Sumiko and Max made this beyond easy. They are so kind, beautiful, and such selfless people. They possess the most infectious personalities that make you want to hang out and get to know them. They’re fun and they always have a way of making everyone around them grin from ear to ear. Their families highlighted these traits and were the most wonderful addition to this planning process!
Mirroring their personalities, Sumiko and Max’s design was filled with bright, colorful bursts of pink and blush speckled with soft ivory and classic gold. Priam Vineyard was the perfect backdrop, hugging us in rows and rows of lush green vines. Their beautiful floral arch was constructed by a dear friend, but we still cannot get over those gorgeous dahlias by Blush Floral Design! They, without exaggeration, exceeded the size of our heads. Our tables were dressed with the same breathtaking florals in an array of vintage gold vessels on top of the most playfully perfect linens to emulate an elegant garden party.
The fun and energy was never in short supply! Max may have stolen the show with his dance moves, as you can see, and rightfully so. Nevertheless, we will never forget this day and we will never forget this couple. Sumiko and Max, thank you for allowing us to take part in such a momental day. Big hugs to you and we wish you all the happiness and love you gave all of us that day! XO

Taylor and Mike… the type of people you want to just hug and squeeze because they make you laugh and smile so hard your cheeks hurt. This couple’s infectious grins and sweet personalities, so eminent in their love for one another. Their perfect laughs that warmed your heart, even if you didn’t know why you were laughing yet you couldn’t help but join in. The undying support and compassion for one another – always a gleam in their eye as they reached a milestone of planning. Their family and friends were just the same! I swear, we all left this wedding feeling like we gained about 150 new friends. We were surrounded by immeasurable love and celebration, the kind that makes you walk away saying, “Now that was a helluva day!”
Taylor was like a planning and design soul sister. She knew what she wanted and we collaborated to bring to life her story and ideas. Of course, we had the best crew and the most fun time planning their day! From the homemade limoncello (which was every bit as fantastic as it sounds) right down to the resplendent florals from Hana Floral Design and Taylor’s incredibly talented cousin Natalie from Hello Darling. No area went uncovered and there was so much pretty everywhere you looked. Every guest was ooh-ing and aah-ing until the lights were turned off! It was picture perfect in every way, outstandingly captured by our dream team duo from Ali and Julie – just tell us how happy your eyes are after looking through.
When I think of love, beauty, and celebration, this is the day I think of. Taylor and Mike, we wish you two nothing but all of the magic you shared with us at your wedding! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it and cheers to you and the memories you’ll make! XO!
