We’re excited to share with you a new series here on our blog: every Wednesday we’ll be featuring inspiration and content for your destination inspired wedding– at home or abroad! We hope you’ve saved the date for an amazing Destination Inspired Event at The White Dress by the shore on March 20th, 2011. Be on the look out for a formal invitation in your mailbox! Be sure to get on the exclusive invitation list by emailing us at info@eventjubilee.com.
Our event is going to explore some of the most beautiful and romantic destinations for your wedding. This week, we’re featuring the island of Capri located on the Almalfi Coast in Italy. This is, hands down, one of my favorite coast lines in the world. When I think of Capri I’m reminded of food, fashion, and architecture. Can’t you see yourself hand-in-hand walking the streets in a mini linen shift dress, long hair and a big blue floppy sun hat? Well, I can!
With it’s turquoise coast line, rich italian food, rocky cliffs, windy streets, gorgeous boats, local artisans and diverse history it is an amazing location for a destination wedding! We can’t wait to share with you our mini Capri-inspired wedding at our Destination Weddings Event, but in the mean time, here is our inspiration board…
{ from L to R: blue cups with orange wedges unknown; woman in blue sun hat in field from cherry blossom girl; two photographs of beautiful bride in romantic gown unknown; tri-pattern from unknown; yellow paper suite from creature of comforts and designed by maemae; flowering branch by orchard cove photography; yellow tulip arrangement from wedding chicks with photography by stacey reeves; blue vintage european car in capri from travelshots; limoncello from wedding chicks with photography by stacey reeves }
Purely romantic, carefree and colorful, our board was inspired by the natural landscape of Capri– the interesting colors and textures– along with the dreamy ocean views. You don’t have to be in Capri to evoke the ambiance and atmosphere there– bring in this color palette along with diverse patterns, smooth finishes and rough textures. Build a menu around regional Almalfi Coast dishes, robust with fishes, lemon (!), handmade pasta, cheeses, and fresh local vegetables. And of course, wine! Be inspired by their beautiful architecture with its greco-roman curved arches, stucco finishes and tiled floors. Think about the narrow windy streets, fresh food markets, local textile artisans, little piazza’s and houses built into the cliff side.
We look forward to seeing you March 20th. xxoo~

In the studio today we’re putting the finishing touches on our itinerary for a new Costa Rican adventure with our amazing collaborative team! For the next week we will be sharing the amazing images of our April project with Stay In Costa Rica — a property and event management company representing the most luxurious properties on the Costa Rican Pacific! We’re traveling with an incredible team: Carla Ten Eyck Photography, The White Dress by the Shore, Datura: A Modern Garden, DD Nickel Beauty, Vintage Cinema, and MMH Marketing. A special shout out to three incredible vendors who contributed to our project on a substantial level but cannot be with us: The Metal Mermaid, Coral Pheasant, and love*jenna. You are with us in spirit– we’ll be drinking a mojito in your honor!
Stay tuned ya’ll– you don’t want to miss this series and why Costa Rica is THE spot for a destination wedding. Plus, we’ll be sharing some highlights from our current adventure.
xoxo– or should we say, pura vida!

After our New Orleans photo shoot, StayInCostaRica.com and MMH Marketing approached us about coming down to the incredible Los Suenos Resort to stage an editorial photo shoot for a national publication. Earlier this month my assistant Diana and I traveled to Costa Rica with an incredible team of Connecticut talent. My BFF Carla Ten Eyck and her studio joined us, along with the amazing Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the Shore, my creative soul mate Tony of Datura: A Modern Garden, the extremely talented duo at Buzz Media, Mike and Erica, and the fashionable DD Nickel.
What’s better than having the opportunity to jetted off to Costa Rica and pull together a photo shoot for the incredible travel website, StayInCostaRica.com? Being able to do it with your friends, of course!
Among our travels we came up with loving nicknames for one another… so before I can show you the behind the scenes, may I introduce our crew:

When Will and Debbie contacted me to plan their destination wedding to Marbella, Spain, we had a short time period to put together all the details. In my quest to find the most amazing location for their vows and reception, we came across the Hotel Rincon Andaluz, an incredible resort right on the Costa del Sol coastline. They were incredible to work with — truly — and recommended great vendors to help pull together Will and Debbie’s day!

They exchanged vows in a Spanish chapel and had an amazing dinner at the Hotel Rincon Andaluz, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Congratulations to you guys!!
